“More than 100,000 people came to the Rozhen Festival last night,” Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova told journalists during her visit to the festival on its last day.
“After a pause of nine years, this is the second year running that the organizers have revived this unique forum of Bulgarian tradition and folklore,” she said and added that to assist the organization of events such as this, the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism was developing a special module in the online register of tourist attractions.
The Rozhen Festival took place July on 15, 16 and 17 in the Rozhen meadows of the Rhodope Mountain. The event brings together people who want to come in contact with the authentic way of life in the Rhodopes, with its folklore, traditions and handicrafts. Last night was Rhodope Night, with the participation of emblematic performers from the Rhodope region - bagpipe players, singers and dancers.
