Regarding Serbia’s decision to dispatch additional forces along its border with Bulgaria over doubts whether this country will be able to cope with the protection of our shared border, Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov stated that it was unfitting to comment actions connected with securing the border of a neighbouring country, but that Serbia had no cause for concern regarding border security.

“What can be said, at this time about the migration situation along our borders is that it is normal in view of the season. There is no cause for concern. In light of latest developments in Turkey there are as many forces dispatched to the border as are necessary,” Georgi Kostov said.
