Bulgaria’s alpinist Boyan Petrov climbed another eight-thousander-the world’s ninth tallest peak-Nanga Parbat (8126 meters) in the Himalayan Mountains in Pakistan. The zoologist from the National Museum of Natural Science in Sofia stepped on his 3rd eight-thousander in 2016. Earlier, Boyan Petrov conquered Annapurna peak (8091 meters) and Makalu (8485 meters). Boyan Petrov managed to climb 3 eight-thousanders in one year for the second time in his career. In 2014 he conquered Kanchenjunga (8586 meters), Broad Peak (8047) and K2 (8611). So far, Boyan who suffers from diabetis has climbed 8 eight-thousanders. His biggest dream is to become the first Bulgarian who conquers all 14 eight-thousanders on the planet. This summer he will try to climb another eight-thousander- Gasherbrum-2 (8035 meters).
