Gas deliveries and planned gas pipeline projects are not expected to be put at risk because of the recent failed coup in Turkey, prof. Hristo Parvanov of the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio. The expert added that big countries and gas monopolies were not interested in hampering major gas projects for diversification of deliveries to Europe.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a new presidential decree, introducing significant reforms in the army. They give the Turkish president and prime minister right to issue direct orders to the commanders. Moreover, military schools in Bulgaria’s southern neighbor will be closed, as a new national defense university is to be created, it was reported.
