The State Agency for Refugees will be able to accommodate foreign nationals in closed-type centers. Bulgaria’s cabinet adopted amendments to the rules of the agency. The measure will be adopted if foreign nationals who seek international asylum have criminal past or the authorities are not able to verify and check their identity and nationality. With regard to the underage foreign nationals the measure will be used in the last resort only or when the authorities have to adhere to the requirements regarding the preservation of the integrity of the families. The State Agency for Refugees has prepared amendments to the Asylum Act. They envisage the determination of movement areas for persons who apply for international asylum.
