Bulgarian naval officers able to join Hellenic Navy operations

Bulgarian naval officers will be able to join operations of the Hellenic Navy, the Commander of the Bulgarian Navy Rear Admiral Mitko Petev has said after singing a memo of understanding for exchange of staff with the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Georgios Giakoumakis. Rear Admiral Mitko Petev has said that operations will be under the umbrella of NATO and the European Union. He has pointed out that this cooperation will be very useful for the Bulgarian Navy delivering extra knowledge, skills and experience. Vice Admiral Georgios Giakoumakis has said that the purpose of his visit is furtherance in cooperation between the naval forces of Bulgaria and Greece in the context of the new threats including migration pressure, human trafficking and terrorism.
