The Bulgarian National Bank has reported that in August the balance of payments remained positive and reached a level of 621.2 million euros in comparison to a level of 424.9 million euros a year earlier. The balance for the first eight months of the year was also positive and totaled 1914.8 million euros (4.2 percent of GDP), it was reported. For the same period, however, the trade balance of the country was negative and reached 1073.3 million euros (2.4 percent of GDP).
