In connection with criticism over the absence of a Bulgarian reaction to words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan interpreted as claims on regions populated by ethnic Turks, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov has said that no responsible politician could possibly dispute the present-day borders in the region. According to the minister, in his criticized statement Erdogan has made a clear distinction between the state borders in the region saying he respects them, and the so-called borders in his heart.
