In its regular economic forecast the European Commission has raised its outlook for the 2016 economic growth in Bulgaria to 3.1%. In the spring the outlook was at 2% growth, but in the recent months a range of international financial institutions have raised their outlooks. The International Monetary Fund for instance corrected its 2016 growth prediction from 2.3% to 3%, and the European bank for Reconstruction and Development, from 2% to 2.5%. Two weeks ago the government published a new, higher outlook for this year forecasting 2.6% growth.
