Bulgaria is already in political crisis and now it is the President’s turn, 24 Chassa daily quotes President Rossen Plevneliev on Friday. Meanwhile, outgoing Premier Boyko Borissov contended that there was no political crisis in the country. President Plevneliev is not rushing to form a new interim cabinet, Standart daily writes on its first pages and warns that a series of political consultations between President Plevneliev and the parties represented at the Parliament will delay the formation of the new caretaker government. Plevneliev to let Boyko Borissov govern the country for another two months, Trud daily informs on Friday. The newspaper comments that the Bulgarian constitution does not set any deadline for the formation of an interim cabinet. Rumen Radev will be trapped by his own proposal to take part at the formation of the new caretaker cabinet, Trud daily adds. President Plevneliev will act as conciliator during the forthcoming Consultative Council for National Security, the newspaper adds.

Bulgaria’s former Minister of Energy Rumen Ovcharov was handed an indictment in relation to the Belene nuclear power plant project. He was accused of causing financial damage to the state to the tune of over EUR 193 million and may be sentenced to jail between 3 and 12 years. Traycho Traykov is the only former Energy Minister who has not received an indictment yet, Telegraph daily informs on Friday. Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office files indictments to former ministers, Standart daily writes on its first pages. Outgoing Minister of Health Petre Moscov may be also handed an indictment in relation to the vaccine barter between Bulgaria and Turkey. Bulgaria received from Turkey the Euvacs B vaccine against Hepatitis B which is prohibited in Bulgaria.

A drone catches corrupted Bulgarian border officers at Danube Bridge, Monitor daily informs on Friday. The authorities seized EUR 10,000 in the house of a detainee. The border officer who was arrested for possession of marked banknotes said in excuse that he was chasing a truck driver to give his money back, the newspaper further writes.

A hospital team in Plovdiv introduced an innovative method for treatment of inguinal hernia, Standart daily writes. According to the new method, surgeons reach the hernia zone through a 0.5 centimeter wide incision in the region of the umbilicus. The laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is made with special surgical instruments and a video camera.

The sales of new cars in the EU have decreased. However, the number of new vehicles sold in Bulgaria increased, Sega daily comments on its first pages. In October 2016, a total of 2,133 new passenger vehicles were sold in Bulgaria, which was 9.4% more as compared to the same month last year. 20,832 new cars were sold in that country since the beginning of 2016, which was 9.5% more as compared to the same period in 2015.
