40 families living nearby the site of the blast were evacuated: Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior

Forty families living nearby the site of today’s explosion in Hitrino were evacuated so far, the pres-center of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior informs. Over 50 houses and public buildings in the village of Hitrino, Northeast Bulgaria, suffered heavy damages after Saturday’s cargo train blast. There isn't any immediate danger for the rest of the population. The competent institutions started to pull some of the cisterns away from the village. The Bulgarian State Railways sent cranes to lift the cisterns which derailed near the Hitrino train station this morning.
