Police and gendarmerie teams are guarding the homes and property of the people in Hitrino against possible looting
According to the Interior Ministry press centre, the freight train tanks will be opened today, but this is a dangerous and difficult process. That is why people must obey police instructions and stay away from the incident perimeter. Official information will be released after 9 AM, when the meeting of the crisis headquarters will be over.
During the night the tanks were cooled and today they are to be drained, after which they will be returned to the rail track. Meanwhile the concrete pillars and the overhead lines must be repaired.
