“We need to analyze the railway lines that pass through residential districts,” said Nastimir Ananiev, chair of the parliamentary transport committee for the Bulgarian National Radio.
“When they were being built in many towns, they were outside the town limits, but once the towns started growing they ended up passing through residential districts. We need to see where such a risk exists and find a way to reduce this risk down to a minimum. In Hitrino that is not the case. The village itself was built around the railway station.”
He added that a legislative initiative can be put through after a thorough analysis. “A reform of Bulgarian State Railways is imperative, despite the protests coming from people from certain towns and villages,” Ananiev said.
