Rumen Radev for Financial Times: ‘Bulgaria will always work with EU, NATO’

In an interview for the Financial Times newly elected President Rumen Radev states that Bulgaria will always work with the EU and NATO. According to the edition, Radev tries to disperse all the concerns on his proximity to the Kremlin. ‘I want Bulgaria to be a real member of NATO with real abilities, being at the same time a loyal and predictable partner’ Radev says. At the same time he holds the view that the relations of the Alliance with Russia should be restored. “I believe we are facing common threats now – terrorism, Islamic fundamentalism and the NATO – Russia cooperation is necessary’ Radev points out.
