I support my country’s friendship with Russia, but I am against the policy line of Russia's President Vladimir Putin which is based on power supremacy, rather than on law supremacy, President Rossen Plevneliev said in his last interview as Bulgaria’s head of state. President Plevneliev underlined that he was the first Bulgarian head of state who opposed to Russia’s policy line which violates international law and that he was proud of that fact. We welcome the election of President Trump and alarm that if he decides to make a deal with Russia related to distribution of spheres of influence, it would be detrimental to Bulgaria, President Plevneliev added with regard to the letter sent by seventeen current and former European officials to President-elect Trump. I made a lot of enemies, but I do not regret it. I am ready to join the barricade again, in order to defend the European development of Bulgaria, President Plevneliev further said.
