Outgoing government gives power to caretaker cabinet

At a ceremony in the Council of Ministers in Sofia, President Rumen Radev officially presented the Prime Minister of the caretaker government - Ognyan Gerdzhikov. Outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borissov stepped down from power with wishes for success to the new cabinet. Professor Gerdzhikov vowed that he and his colleagues would not deny or destroy the achievemnst of the outgoing ministers, but added that mistakes will be corrected.

We will make every effort to preserve financial stability, order and security in the country, but our main task will be organizing the upcoming elections, the new Prime Minister added.
