NATO launches military exercise Sea Shield 2017 in the Black Sea

NATO’s international military exercise Sea Shield 2017 starts on February 1 in the Black Sea, Romanian information agencies announced, based on information from Romania’s Naval Forces. A total of 2.800 military men from Bulgaria, Romania, Canada, Greece, Spain, the USA, Turkey and Ukraine will participate at the training with vessels, fighter jets and a submarine, BTA informs. Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said that Russia was monitoring the maneuvers of the ships in the Black Sea and has undertaken the necessary measures to control the situation. We hope that the military exercise will be held in a very secure environment without any challenges against Russia, Minister Shoygu further said.
