Today's press in Bulgaria focuses on the events across the country that yesterday marked the 144th anniversary of the death of Vasil Levski, Bulgaria’s Apostle of Freedom, who gave his life for the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule that lasted for five centuries.

Under the title "Government kneeling before the Apostle" Trud publishes an article that reports about the memorial service in the St. Sofia church. After the memorial service a procession took place from the church to the monument of Vasil Levski, where a ceremony was held. "Trud" quotes President Rumen Radev as saying: "Today all honor the memory of Vasil Levski. This is the bitter fate of many Bulgarian righteous people. This is a lesson for all of us - to recognize these people while they are still alive, to listen to them, to protect them and follow them. Levski is more than a hero. In history charm, wisdom and boldness are rarely combined in one person." In his speech, the head of state pointed out that Levski gives hope to the weak, the disillusioned and the believers. "Dnevnik" focuses on another part of the speech of President Radev: "Brotherhood for everyone without focusing on faith and nationality. Levski used to say but is it so these days? Neither Bulgaria nor Europe nor the world are close to this ideal. "

Rumen Radev also recalled the words of Levski that all confusions, jealousy and reproach come from stupidity, which is the reason for the division between people, "Dnevnik" reports. "Standard" focuses on the commemorative ceremony in the hometown of Vasil Levski, Karlovo, at which caretaker Prime Minister Gerdzhikov was present. The newspaper quoted the speech of the Prime Minister, according to whom Levski has long been a saint to the people and the cipher of this holiness was encoded in his notebook. "And I think that people who lead the policy of Bulgaria should also have such notebooks, in which it is written who and what they did for Bulgaria,” Ognyan Gerdzhikov said.

"Knowing the righteous when they are alive," is the headline in the "24 hours." "Politicians bowed to the Apostle," Monitor writes. "Bulgaria bows to Vasil Levski," is a headline in Duma.
