Producer prices in Bulgaria in January are up for the third month running and mark a sizable growth rate on an annual basis, indicate National Statistical Institute data.
The growth rate compared to the previous month of December stands at 0.6 percent, compared to January of 2016 – as much as 4.3 percent. Earlier this month the National Statistical Institute released a report which shows that inflation in Bulgaria is up in January by 1.3 percent on a monthly basis, and 1.4 percent on an annual basis. Latest producer price data are a prerequisite for the emergence of the Bulgarian economy from deflation and stagflation which has been in place since October 2015.
