We should not allow severance of diplomatic relations with Turkey: PM Ognian Gerdjikov

“There have been certain tensions recently between Bulgaria and Turkey”, caretaker Prime Minister Ognian Gerdjikov said in connection with the election video of the Bulgarian mostly ethnic Turkish party DOST featuring Turkish Ambassador to Bulgaria Suleyman Gokce and also regarding election campaigning of Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security Mehmet Muezzinoglu who spoke to immigrants from Bulgaria on 3 and 6 Marchin Istanbul. Ognian Gerdjikov recalled that on this occasion Deputy Foreign Minister Boyko Mirchev summoned on 7 March Ambassador Suleyman Gokce. “I strongly hope there will not be extreme measures such as severance of diplomatic relations; this we cannot and should not allow to happen between two neighboring countries”, Gerdjikov pointed out.
