The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Bulgarian ambassador to Ankara Nadezhda Neynsky was called to Sofia to report on the situation in Turkey in relation to the preparation of the upcoming parliamentary elections on March 26, 2017.

A total of 35 polling stations will be opened in Turkey. This is the maximum permissible number of polling stations in a non-EU country. There is no change in the position of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry regarding the relations between Bulgaria and Turkey.

Bulgaria would continue to maintain a constructive dialogue with neighboring Turkey and considers unacceptable any external influence on the election process in Bulgaria.
