EC allocates another 86.6 million euros for Sofia Metro

The European Commission has approved a new investment package of EUR 86.6 million for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in order to finance further work on the construction of the western part of the metro system in the Bulgarian capital city. In support of the construction of the new line of the Sofia Metro, last year the Commission adopted a package of investments worth over EUR 368 million. Previously, nearly 500 million euros were invested for extending lines 1 and 2, in the 2007-2013 financial period.
