On occasion of the World Blood Donor Day marked on June 13 Deputy Director General of the Bulgarian Red Cross Nadezhda Todorovska announced today that nearly 600 Bulgarians need blood transfusion on a daily basis, of whom 200 children. The number of young Bulgarians donating blood gratuitously has been increasing. Many people are not aware that blood donation is not only harmless, but also beneficial to health. People in other European countries donate blood, because they know that by doing so they help themselves and someone else, Mrs Todorovska explained.
