More than 20 customs officers detained at border with Greece

A specialized operation by the State Agency for National Security and the Combating Organized Crime Chief Directorate closed down the border with Greece last night in the region of Kulata border checkpoint in both directions.

At around 3 AM traffic was restored but the line of vehicles continues long. 22 customs officers from Kulata border checkpoint have been detained for involvement in corruption schemes. Money was seized during the operation which continued through the night on the territory of Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil, Sofia, Kulata, Sandanski and Petrich whose provenance is yet to be investigated.
