Day of Rila Mountain marked in Bulgaria

On the first Sunday of August Bulgarian hikers and nature lovers traditionally mark the Day of Rila Mountain. 

This year a mass hiking towards Rila's summit Musala, which the highest peak in the Balkan Peninsula, will take place and there will be a cultural program at the Musala Hut, it was reported. The Sitnyakovo Express lift and the gondola lift in the resort of Borovets will be working at a discount price.

The Day of Rila was marked for the first time in 1925.
