Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov declared in a TV interview that on October 3rd, at a joint sitting of the Bulgarian and Romanian governments the future project for a third bridge linking the two states over the Danube River would be discussed. The idea is a whole new facility to be built with budget funding from both parties, or based on a concession, if an investor is found, the minister explained. A day earlier – on Sunday, PM Boyko Borissov assumed that with the forthcoming introduction of a toll road system for cargo vehicles the project would be able to fund itself fully, with no state funding necessary.
