In an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov said that a work group is to assess the condition of Bulgaria's MiG 29 jets.

This way the exact cost of repairs would be known by the middle of November.

"I personally believe that simultaneously with the process of negotiating buying a new fighter jet for the Bulgarian aviation, we should do everything to put in operation the planes we now have, as they could also be effective with fewer resources," Minister Karakachanov told the BNR.
