Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Greece negotiated to work as one for the prosperity of the Balkans, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov said after the quadrilateral meeting in Varna with Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Romania’s Premier Mihai Tudose and Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic. Bulgaria, Romania and Greece will try to speed up the process of Serbia’s accession to the European Union to the advantage of the security of the Balkans and the global security as a whole, Boyko Borissov said. Romania’s Premier Mihai Tudose announced that Bulgaria and Romania agreed to boost cooperation with Greece and Serbia. Greece’s Premier Alexis Tsipras welcomed Sofia’s initiative for Western Balkans Summit during Bulgaria’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic agreed that peace and stability in the region are of great importance, but took advantage of the meeting to accuse the EU of double standards with regard to the issue linked with the independence of the Spanish province of Catalonia and Kosovo.
