Temenuzhka Petkova: Equipment for Belene NPP will be delivered by end 2017

The whole equipment of the two nuclear reactors for the suspended Belene NPP will be delivered to Belene by the end of 2017, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said on Wednesday. On Tuesday Minister Petkova met with representatives of Russia’s company Rosatom which manufactures the equipment. Bulgaria and Rosatom are holding talks aimed at signing an agreement for preservation of the nuclear equipment, Minister Petkova pointed out and added that according to the report of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences about the necessity of construction of Belene nuclear power plant, Bulgaria and the region will need new nuclear facilities in 2035.
