ISIS commander arrested in Sofia

A commanding officer of ISIS was arrested in Sofia on September 29th. He is a Bulgarian citizen of Syrian origin. He and two other men were nabbed and accused of organizing and heading a gang under the coverage of their hookah tobacco production business. Charges have also been pressed against the man for terrorism. ‘In fact their official activity covered and funded the gang and its main figure, who mostly participated in ISIS military formations,’ the prosecution points out. The accused man received Bulgarian citizenship in 2008. In the summer of 2013 he joined the ISIS formations in Syria and participated actively on the battlefield as a commanding officer.
