Famous Bulgarian politicians, scholars and bankers have set up the foundation Osnova-ta. The new organization aims to support and promote the activities of the National Theater, its history, present and future. The name of the NGO is not accidental – Osnova (Fundament) was the name of a travelling theater company which was based where now Ivan Vazov National Theater stands. Drawing on the position and image of the National Theater in society the founders plan to support the involvement of the theater in European projects and to attract sponsorship. The organization will also work for the preservation of the archives of the institution which sport 13,000 items.
