Bulgarian parliamentary delegation pays visit to Serbia

A delegation of the Bulgarian National Assembly led by its chairman Dimitar Glavchev paid a visit to the Serbian towns of Dimitrovgrad and Nis. In Dimitrovgrad, Glavchev said that Bulgaria would continue to care of the rights and freedoms of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia and that Bulgaria supports the integration of Serbia into the EU after fulfilling established criteria and requirements.

If Serbia wanted Bulgaria could provide expert assistance in this process. Deputy Speaker of the Serbian parliament Veroljub Arsic said that Serbia had a policy of respecting the rights of all citizens, regardless of their faith and nationality. Pointing out that Serbia keeps its commitments in regards to the Bulgarian national minority, Glavchev commented that one way for Bulgarians in the western outlands to know their mother tongue was BNT and BNR broadcasting local media packages.

In Nis, possibilities of deepening of cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia were discussed with representatives of local authorities were discussed with.
