PM Boyko Borissov pays surprise visit to region of Bourgas

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov paid a surprise visit to the region of Bourgas where he took part in a sitting of the crisis headquarters in connection with the recent flooding in the area and inspected construction work on the Bourgas - Sunny Beach road.

PM Borissov stated that he has a nomination for the post of health minister but that the name would officially be made public at the Council of Ministers sitting on 10 November.

Commenting on the flooding in Bourgas and Kameno municipality, PM Borissov said that the infrastructure damage amounted to 4 million 300,000 Leva. The mayors of the two municipalities will apply to the fund supporting victims of disasters, accidents and calamities for this money. “We shall fully rebuild the infrastructure,” Boyko Borissov said.

He also commented on the no confidence vote currently being prepared by the Bulgarian Socialist Party and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, and, answering a question why this precise moment in time has been chosen, when the country is getting ready for the Presidency of the Council of the EUBoyko Borissov stated that the opposition obviously “wants us just then to be left without a parliament”.
