One of the conditions for Bulgaria’s support for the integration of Serbia in NATO and EU is regard of the rights of Bulgarian minorities in that country, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.

Commenting the 2018 budget he said it included 50 million euro for raising wages of the military. “The world is getting more dangerous, national security faces challenges and this spells the need of financing”, Karakachanov said.

Regarding the plans of the opposition for a vote of no-confidence against the government of PM Boyko Borissov, Krasimir Karakachanov said that the opposition parties BSP (the Bulgarian Socialist Party) and DPS (the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, predominantly ethnic Turkish) had a tradition of accepting the choice of voters in Bulgaria with difficulty. He however added that no-confidence vote motions are part of the job of the opposition in parliament.
