Inventor of the Year prizes conferred

Since the launch of the Innovation and Competitiveness Operational Program 2014-2020, 235 contracts have been concluded to the tune of nearly 75 million euro related exclusively to innovation support, Deputy Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov said at the Inventor of the Year annual award ceremony. This year's nominations have been joined by 35 patent-protected inventions, the work of 28 researchers.

The 2017 Grand Prix for Innovative Company was received by Opticoelectron Group JSCo based in Panagyurishte, Southern Bulgaria.

Lachezar Borisov has pointed out that as per innovation dynamism Bulgaria ranks fourth for the period 2012-2016.
