Bulgaria is third largest producer of raspberries in Europe

In Bulgaria, the annual production of raspberries is over 15,000 tons, as production has been rising. This makes this country the third largest producer of raspberries for the food industry in Europe. Bulgarian raspberries are preferred because of their taste and high content of active substances. This was reported at the annual meeting of the Bulgarian Association of Raspberry Producers. Bulgarian production, however, is endangered by non-EU producers who do not pay EU duties and taxes and do not comply with sanctions against Russia, producers said. In 2018 Bulgaria will host the XI World Raspberry Conference.
