It is important for Bulgaria that Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia join the EU more quickly, so there will be no white spots in the region. This was what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at a press conference with his Macedonian counterpart Zoran Zaev after a joint session of the countries' governments that took place in the Macedonian town of Strumica.

PM Borissov announced that a large meeting of western Balkan countries will be held in Sofia on December 6 and 7 with the participation of representatives of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. During the meeting funding opportunities for Corridor 8, which should connect the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea, passing through Bulgaria, Albania and the Republic of Macedonia will be discussed.

Bulgaria supports the policy of accession as it leads to investments and higher incomes, and where construction goes on, there is no war, the Bulgarian Prime Minister added. Borissov also said that Bulgaria was an example of ethnic tolerance.
