At the beginning of 2018, Bulgaria and Turkey are going to resume trade in livestock that was terminated five years ago.

The news has come at a joined press conference in Sofia given by Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture Rumen Porozhanov and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Esref Fakibaba.

Minister Fakibaba is visiting Bulgaria for a Bulgarian-Turkish agribusiness forum with attendance of more than 500 representatives from the agrarian sectors in the two countries.

The first permission for trade will be valid for sheep and goats, Minister Porozhanov said and added that so far 90 percent of administrative hurdles had been cleared.
