During his working visit to Canada, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev met with his Canadian counterpart Ian Shugart and with Richard Wex, Associate Deputy Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. During their meeting Georg Georgiev thanked the Canadian side for the facilitation of the visa regime between Canada and Bulgaria which, in his words, opens up new vistas for promoting bilateral relations.

“Bulgaria is ready to expand its cooperation with Canada in key spheres, such as combating illegal migration, immigrant integration and people trafficking,” Georg Georgiev said and added, that increasing Canadian investments in Bulgaria and increasing the volume and the scope of Bulgarian products on the Canadian market is a priority for Bulgaria.
