Developing infrastructure projects between Bulgaria and Serbia will benefit the entire region

“Bulgaria will continue to support Serbia’s progress towards European integration during its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU,” said Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during a meeting in Sofia with his Serbian counterpart Ana Brnabic.

He stressed that the development of infrastructure projects between Bulgaria and Serbia will help the connectivity of the entire region. The two prime ministers gave priority to the negotiated construction of the gas interconnector between Bulgaria and Serbia and praised the progress made in the work on the projects for the construction of the Nis-Sofia highway, the electrification of the railway line from Nis to the Bulgarian border, the modernization of the Zhelezni Vrata locks and the port of Brcko on the River Sava which will be of paramount importance to the two countries, but also to the public and businesses throughout Europe.
