PMs of Bulgaria and Estonia discuss implementation of the programme of the EU “Presidency trio” countries

The Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and Estonia Boyko Borissov and Jüri Ratas discussed, in Brussels, the implementation of the programme of the Council of the EU “Presidency trio” – Estonia, Bulgaria and Austria.

After the meeting the sides stated that the Trio will uphold their priorities, connected with the security of the European citizens, with increasing employment, economic growth, continuing the process of cohesion and stabilization of the countries neighbouring on the EU. Borissov welcomed Ratas' different and innovative approach during the Estonian Presidency, most of all in the sectors of digitalization and cybersecurity. The two prime ministers agreed on the need to focus particular attention on the Western Balkans.

“We all have an interest in making the region safer, more stable and to see it make tangible progress. It is very important that the people of the Western Balkans know that they can rely on Europe and its solidarity,” said PM Borissov.
