The governing body of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) General Assembly will present today a schedule of protests by researchers during Bulgaria's Presidency of the Council of the EU, as of 1 January.

At the end of November, the researchers organized a protest while MPs were voting the national budget for 2018 in parliament. The state subsidy provided for the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences amounts to 83 million Leva, which they are describing as a "liquidation sum".
