Vidin Daskalov best-loved 20 c. operetta singer in Bulgaria

The annual poll “The favorite operetta singers of 20 c.” held by the Bulgarian National Radio music show Casta Diva has closed. It was dedicated to the centenary of the Bulgarian professional operetta theater. The poll was held by voting on the website of the Bulgarian National Radio and among the audiences of Stefan Makedonski National Music Theater in Sofia. The poll’s outcome suggests that the best-loved operetta singer for Bulgarians is Vidin Daskalov followed by Noy Nikolov and Aron Aronov. Among female singers the most popular is Mimi Balkanska followed by Lilyana Kisiova and Ludmila Cheshmedzhieva. Earlier polls have suggested that the best-loved tenor for Bulgarians is Luciano Pavarotti, Swan Lake is their favorite ballet, The Gypsy Princess is the best-loved operetta and My Fair Lady is their favorite musical.
