The Bulgarian government has allocated 300,000 euros to renovate and expand the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Budapest, Hungary. The Bulgarian Home of Culture in the Hungarian capital city opened in 1957 and was built with donations of families of Bulgarian gardeners in Hungary. It has become the most important spiritual and cultural center of the community. All Bulgarian national and traditional holidays are celebrated there. In its current condition the center does not meet the requirements for a multifunctional cultural center and needs repairs. For this reason, the Bulgarian Republican Self-Government and the Bulgarian Society in Hungary already have plans for its renewal and expansion.
