February 1 - day of St. Trifon the Pruner

Today, February 1, according to the Gregorian calendar, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church honours St. Trifon.

According to popular tradition, St. Trifon the Pruner is the guardian of vines, that is why he is especially revered by vine growers, but also by falconers, gardeners and inn-keepers.
