Bulgaria has not expressed position regarding possible increase of its contribution to the EU budget, this country’s Ministry of Finance categorically announced. In relation to statements that eight EU member states, including Bulgaria, have agreed to increase their contributions to the EU budget after Brexit, the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance pointed out that such position has never been subject to discussions in either a working or official format of negotiations between EU countries. The first proposal for the EU budget in the new programming period is expected to be made in May this year.
