The Balchik University Botanical Garden has gathered seeds of 230 plant species for global scientific exchange throughout 2018. The already proclaimed INDEX SEMINUM 2018 describes the specific microclimate conditions for the growing of the plant species at the Balchik Botanical Garden. It is a part of Bulgaria’s commitment under the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity for providing suitable plant genetic material for the purposes of national and international scientific research. The new seed catalogue includes 88 cactus species from the Balchik Garden, as most of them are cold resistant and are grown in the open air.
