PM Boyko Borissov told World Trade Organization Director-General Roberto Azevedo, who is on a visit to Sofia, that during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Bulgaria will initiate a discussion on the trading system and on a more efficient functioning of dispute settlement mechanisms.

Borissov informed Roberto Azevedo of the results of the administrative reform the government has undertaken. He noted that in the period from January until November 2017, Bulgarian exports went up by 11.8 percent compared to the same period of 2016.

At a meeting with Roberto Azevedo, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev thanked for the support Bulgaria received from the WTO in order to meet the standards of modern trade. He also expressed this country's desire to strengthen its presence on new markets outside the European Union where the potential for trade is large but not yet fully realized.
