Russian Patriarch Kirill arrives to Sofia

His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill has landed at Sofia Airport where he was welcomed by Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova.

I am very happy to step on the hospitable Bulgarian land which is so very close to my heart, and meet His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte, the clergy and the faithful Bulgarian people”, was the first thing the Russian patriarch said in Sofia.

I have come to Bulgaria with a radiant feeling of joy for the forthcoming meetings”, Patriarch Kirill added.

We are very much honored to have Patriarch Kirill taking part in the celebrations of Bulgaria’s National Day 3rd March, and in the celebrations of 140 years since the end of the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation”, said in turn Vice President Iliana Iotova.
