The priorities of the Ministry of Health during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, the future Regulation on Health Technology Assessment and the European reference networks of high-tech hospitals were among the talking points during the meeting between Bulgaria’s Health Minister Kiril Ananiev and Vytenis Andriukaitis, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety.

The Bulgarian minister of health pointed out that during Bulgaria’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, the country will make efforts to lay down the fundament for future discussions on the EC proposal for a Regulation on Health Technology Assessment, the Bulgarian Health Ministry has announced. Commissioner Andriukaitis on his part expressed support for the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency in the sphere of health care – a healthy diet for children and better access to medicines. In the words of Vytenis Andriukaitis, the question of a healthy diet for children must be higher up on the European agenda.
